How Anyone Can Make A Living From A Tech Blog: Part 2 of 2

Remember that you have a life outside of blogging. If you don't take time off and get away from your computer, you can easily burn out. It is important that you take occasional breaks. Walk around the block. Meet some friends for coffee. Do whatever pleases you but do something other than siting at the computer 24 hours a day! This will give you the break you need to come back and create content with a fresh new perspective.

Your blog should not be focused on making money. It is certainly possible to make money from blogging, but allowing profit to become your sole motivator could spell disaster. You have to take the time to cultivate loyal readerships, and if you don't have an interest for the topic your blog is covering, that will soon start to show. Start your blog on something you have a passion for, and your enjoyment of the subject will come through in your posts; this is something everyone loves to see.
Tip:  Tie your blog into other social-networking sites you use. Ask people if they can also share with their network to reach many more people. Having a personal account is optimal since other users will see that they are interacting with an actual person.
If you'd like to attract more people to your blog, try taking advantage of social-networking sites. Create a page on Facebook, and invite your Facebook friends to read your blog. Twitter is another tool to create better blog posts. Your friends may feel like they are being spammed if you send them too many links. That said, careful use of this strategy can grow your reader base and attract new visitors.
Pay attention to comments and respond to everything you can. However, don't get upset or angry about what other people say on your blog. Whatever the subject is, there will always be people who criticize. Use any constructive criticisms to help improve your blog. With destructive or negative comments, respond politely and leave it at that. By doing this, you will show your readers that you know how to take the high road and build their respect, as well as your readership.
Think about what you want to achieve through your blog before you create it. Would you like to gain recognition as an expert and create a reputation for yourself? Maybe money is your biggest inspiration. Perhaps you have more than one goal. Understand what those goals are and build your blog accordingly.
As mentioned previously, blogging may initially appear to be simple and straightforward. Every person has some type of message that they want others to read. Then there are other things to think about, like plans and content. The suggestions you have just read can help you in your plans.
